OUR MISSION STATEMENT “Hoo” Haven is dedicated to rehabbing and releasing North American Wildlife and to educating all individuals as to the importance of conservation of Mother Earth to maintain the land clean and beautiful for all. A quick review of what “Hoo” Haven is ALL ABOUT for those who may be reading this for the first time. “Hoo” is a facility, where North American Animals and birds are brought, when they are orphaned or injured. They are given individual treatment to get them back to health and then put back in the wild where they belong. We have a small ICU, where nebulizer treatments, Oxygen, IVs. Steroids etc are given to stabilize them. When all is well they are put on their individual diets and any medicines needed to complete their recovery. Broken bones are immobilized before transport to our vet. We are not open to the public. We are mainly a hospital and step down unit, for the animal and birds to receive their care before release. However, if you would like to do a project, donate or help in some way a private tour may be arranged for you. If you would like to help “Hoo” Haven in their efforts of Conservation, Education and Rehabbing make checks payable to “Hoo” Haven P.O. Box 594 Durand, IL 61024 or thru Pay Pal.
“Hoo” Haven is a 501 C3 not-for-profit, tax deductible organization. If you would like to give a lasting gift or legacy, you can do this Thru Endowments, Trusts, or land donations to be used only for release sights (never to be developed). To make a lasting commitment to
helping conservation, wildlife and education consider
making a bequest or leaving an endowment. This can
be done in several ways. : a specific dollar
amount or percentage of an estate can be left directly
to Hoo Haven: Insurance policies can list Hoo
Haven as a beneficiary: investments such as
stocks, real estate or land ( for release sites) or
other such items can also be left. Please consult
your financial planner or attorney for their advice on
how to handle your bequest so it is carried out.
Thank you
