OUR MISSION STATEMENT

“Hoo” Haven is dedicated to rehabbing and releasing North American Wildlife and to educating all individuals as to the importance of conservation of Mother Earth to maintain the land clean and beautiful for all.

A quick review of what “Hoo” Haven is ALL ABOUT for those who may be reading this for the first time.

Hoo” is a facility, where North American Animals and birds are brought, when they are orphaned or injured.  They are given individual treatment to get them back to health and then put back in the wild where they belong.

We have a small ICU, where nebulizer treatments, Oxygen, IVs. Steroids etc are given to stabilize them.  When all is well they are put on their individual diets and any medicines needed to complete their recovery.  Broken bones are immobilized before transport to our vet.

We are not open to the public.  We are mainly a hospital and step down unit, for the animal and birds to receive their care before release.   However, if you would like to do a project, donate or help in some way a private tour may be arranged for you.

If you would like to help “Hoo” Haven in their efforts of Conservation, Education and Rehabbing make checks payable to “Hoo” Haven P.O. Box 594 Durand, IL  61024 or thru Pay Pal.

“Hoo” Haven is a 501 C3 not-for-profit, tax deductible organization.

If you would like to give a lasting gift or legacy, you can do this Thru Endowments, Trusts, or land donations to be used only for release sights (never to be developed).

To make a lasting commitment to helping conservation, wildlife and education consider making a bequest or leaving an endowment.  This can be done in several ways.  :  a specific dollar amount or percentage of an estate can be left directly to Hoo Haven:  Insurance policies can list Hoo Haven as a beneficiary:  investments such as stocks, real estate or land ( for release sites) or other such items can also be left.  Please consult your financial planner or attorney for their advice on how to handle your bequest so it is carried out.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE WHO GAVE IN MEMORY OF GERTRUDE STEWART. She has truly become a "Hoo" Angel.  The out pouring showed everyone knew how much she loved wildlife and wanted to leave a legacy.

Thank you again.  I hope she is smiling in heaven for all the people that remembered her.  A plaque will be going up in her name.

 DONATIONS

There are so many ways to make a difference at "Hoo" Haven.  we have Girl Scouts come out and plant flowers.  Beautification is always welcome.  We have beautification indoor projects as well.  Such as making arrangements to be put in some of the bird of prey areas.

Paper towels, garbage bags, cereal(squirrels love certain cereals), laundry soap, comet are just a few of the donations we go thru on a  weekly basis to keep "Hoo" tip top shape.  These scouts did a collection drive

"Hoo" is always grateful for all the loving hands that work together to help us do more.

NEEDED ALL TYPE OF GAME MEAT

The demand for our services here at "Hoo" Haven has been overwhelming and it takes alot to meet the demand.  "Hoo" goes thru over 1000 pounds of deer meat, pheasants, quail, hundreds of pound of fish and more.

We are in need of any types of liver, hearts, or games meat whether it would be deer, goose, duck etc.  As you get ready for the new season don't throw the freezer burn meat away donate to all the hawks, owls and eagles.

Thank you for all help that you give us.  You too can be part of the solution and feel good about helping.
